Christopher Jones’ first art exhibit was in elementary school – his art teacher noticed his talent and displayed his drawings on a “gallery wall,” outside of the cafeteria as part of a school fundraiser. That continued his spark for art and he began doing portraits of his classmates and teachers and entering his work into competitions, including internationally.
His love of art continued through high school, where he was accepted to the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts, a month-long summer program that provides arts education for gifted and talented students in the state. It was there he became inspired by the power that graphic design had to evoke emotion, solicit a call to action or raise awareness.
In 2013, Jones found a way to combine his passions for art and giving back through the creation of his company, SeeJones Creative LLC. He has worked side by side with organizations to design, empower, inspire and impact their visual communications.
SeeJones Creative has done projects for Toyota, National Urban League Young Professionals, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. International Headquarters, and the Fulton County Board of Health.
Jones’ primary art media is charcoal and pastels. In Atlanta, where he resides, Jones has worked on murals in the city’s Castleberry Hill neighborhood and at Morehouse College. His artwork has been exhibited in Atlanta, Ga., Brooklyn, N.Y., Nashville, Tenn., Miami, Fla., and Washington, D.C.
He has been a featured visual artist at the A3C Hip-Hop Festival, listed among the 2019, 2018 and 2017 Who’s Who in Black Atlanta, and completed the HATCH, IGNITE and AIM arts entrepreneurship courses through C4-Atlanta and League of Art Entrepreneurs accelerator programs.
Jones earned his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in graphic design from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and an MBA in Marketing from Lincoln Memorial University. He is a frequent community volunteer, and in 2018, he was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by both the Urban League of Greater Atlanta and United Way of Greater Atlanta, respectively.
