How we started
Known for the famous Big DAT, since December 1994, Dat Donut has been a Chatham neighborhood institution. The owners opened their flagship location on the corner of 83rd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue. Donuts were always a childhood favorite and you can sometimes spot them on site delighting in the deep fried confection. Darryl and Andrea take pride in a good quality product and friendly service!
Their bakers have combined experienced exceeding 25 years specializing in fresh and delicious hand cut donuts. Since its inception, there have been four Dat Donut locations throughout the Chicagoland area.
Where did the name “DAT Donut” come from?
When little kids ask for something, they say “I want ‘dat’ one mommy.” It also happens to be the owners’ initials.Photos
