Profile
Dr. Simela completed her undergraduate studies with honors in Biology and Mathematics at Rosemont College. She subsequently received her Master’s in Biological Sciences from Drexel University. Following graduate school, Dr. Simela obtained her medical degree from New York Institute of Technology – College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she graduated in the top quartile of her class.
After her internship, Dr. Simela decided to pursue specialty training in Dermatology. She was accepted as a Clinical Research Fellow, where she conducted research on acne and cosmetic medicine. Dr. Simela is an accomplished physician scientist with numerous publications in major academic journals and textbooks. She completed her dermatology residency training at Hackensack University Medical Center – PMC, where she was selected as the Chief Resident. Dr. Simela is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Dermatology.
