Profile
I am a licensed clinical social worker, who is passionate about helping adults and couples remove internal distress so they can experience mental wellness. I have over 20 years of experience helping others apply tools that empower them, and I use evidence based, practice informed interventions to bring relief.
Troubling emotions are like wild animals. Either you manage them, or they will manage you. I would love to teach you how to manage yours.
When I start my work with you, my first priority is to create a space for you to feel safe and understood. Information about what is causing you distress, efforts you’ve made to resolve the concern, and what your priorities are, is covered in the first appointment. Subsequent sessions address thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that feed the distress. I move at a pace that is comfortable for you and support your ability to make meaningful change.
The thought of talking to a professional and the stigma associated with therapy can make asking for help uncomfortable. Because we receive so many messages to “be strong”, it’s easy to think that being vulnerable would not be helpful. The truth is strength is found in our vulnerabilities and is an important part of any journey to better health.
If you are looking for a therapist who is committed to understanding your struggles; does not come across as the expert of “you”; is patient with your change process; and who will create a safe space for you to look at yourself; please, give me a call.
