About Us
In 1999, Some Like It Black opened its doors in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood.
It welcomed artists of all facets to come and express themselves to a diverse group of devotees. People from all across the city came to enjoy live entertainment from local and famous poets and jazz musicians. The vibe of SLIB was something new and refreshing for the community.
Now 20 years later, Some Like It Black has come back to the Kenwood / Oakland community with a new style, the creative arts bar. The intimate space and homelike vibe will still remain for artists to express their individuality. We have added a full service bar with specialty drinks. Known for our great tacos and smoothies as well at an affordable price. Welcome back to Some Like It Black.
